Ryan Britt and Dan Stricklin shot footage at the Benini Sculpture Ranch, in the studio as Bettye fabricated Marathon, and the installation at Flat Creek Road and Highway 290. Marathon Installation

Marathon rode on a 16 foot flat bed trailer from the studio in West Texas to the Johnson City installation site. A group of friends and a film crew from The Texas Country Reporter welcomed him to his new home at the corner of Highway 290 and Flat Creek Road just outside Johnson City. The Preserve at Walnut Springs, in conjunction with The Benini Sculpture Ranch, had prepared a four foot earthen base to ensure that travelers would be able to fully appreciate the sculpture. A crane carefully lifted Marathon from the trailer to a concrete pad on the top of the mound.
